Narrative Design Postmortem - Owen Corey

Howdy! I'm Owen Corey, the narrative designer for this project.
Out of the 21 hours minimum required, I got 2 hours from putting together a story board, 4 hours putting together the unimplemented opening comic widget (luckily the artist's work was repurposed as the banner and thumbnail for the project), and about 12 hours total putting together the Itch.io page, from the layout and write up to the gameplay trailer. That adds up to 18 hours which is 3 short of the desired work time.
In case you missed the trailer, here it is
The hardest part of this project for me was feeling like I was really doing much of anything until the end. There's only so much you can do with the plot of an endless runner. As for the Itch page, while having much more to do, it still felt like I was barely contributing to the project. I did some work on the unimplemented opening comic, but we had a merge issue pop up that buried it in the back of my mind. Once I had gotten it working again it was too late to implement it combined with potentially another merge issue drowning it back to the backlog. All of this I believe to be my own fault because I should've been more proactive in asking what needed to be done to make it easier for the other group members, given I had the least to do.
If there were anything I'd want to do better in the next project, I'd want to keep in much closer contact with the rest of the group members. At least two mandatory meetings a week to catch up on what people are doing so we don't end up assigning someone something that they never knew about until it's too late for them to do anything about it. I also would like to pick up more to do in terms of programming to help ease the burden of our sole programmer that got everything shoved onto them.
As for what I'm most proud of, the Itch page is by far the most I have to show for myself. I also recorded the trailer but I had never used OBS before so there are a few issues, particularly with the blank space on the right and bottom of the gameplay sections of the trailer. I think the whole page came out pretty nicely and I think the write up stood out pretty well all things considered, and I think the color palette is really nice personally.
