Artist Postmortem - Parker Chester

My name is Parker Chester and I worked as the artist for Electric Funeral! This game was created as part of a 3-week game project as assigned through Game Design 2 at WSU.
On my Kanban board, I had estimated that my aspects of the project would total around 25 hours, and ultimately I had spent about 28 hours total on the project in the three weeks.
As for the specifics of my role, it ranged quiet a lot as the project shifted during the course of the three weeks. My main role was to find or create assets as required for Electric Funeral. This ranged from music, asset packs, SFX, UI, and custom art. Originally I was meant to assist in set dressing, however due to needing custom art work, that aspect was shifted to our Game Designer, Riley.
When it comes to the most difficult parts of this project, there were a few. For myself, much of it was unavoidable due to the amount of project focused classes I am taking this semester. I have a very full schedule this semester and my priority list is always shifting as I finish and gain new assignments from all my classes. Despite this, I did fully accomplish all that was agreed upon for me to do and when issues arose, me and my team did our best to redelegate as swiftly as possible. When it came to the comic panels that I created for this project, the original idea was to have them based on the classic 80's comic book art style, however due to time constraints that was not feasible and I went with a much simpler art style to ensure that it would get finished in time.
The other aspect that was difficult was, unfortunately, issues with Github. Our Game Designer Riley did have consistent issues and lots of work was lost on many sides due to it. But nonetheless, he did still work hard to try and recover what he could and ultimately it is what it is and this will be a good learning experience.
While the UI I made wasn't necessarily "substantial," I did learn a bit about how UI is created and formatting the creation correctly.
I don't have anything that I am particular proud when it comes to what I have done in this project, however I am proud to say that our team has created a fully finished and working game!
Reference board, I will repeat that due to time I was unable to actually achieve this styling, however it was the main inspo/goal: https://www.pinterest.com/coulsonpng/gd2-electric-funeral/
